History of Kuroshi-Do

On November 1, 1974 after years of arduous study and training in various Japanese, Okinawan and Korean martial arts. Three Co-founders, Soke S. Papasan, Soke Haisan Kaleak and the late Soke Lusayne S. Alston systemized what they felt were the most workable techniques of these arts into the martial arts of Kuroshi-Do. Kuroshi-Do means the "Way of the Black Warrior" and is characterized by it's "Family Concept." In this day and time, it is very important that we stress the meaning of strong family bond. in Kuroshi-Do, all of the students, regardless of color, race or religion are related. We train, study, live and travel as family. The closeness can be seen in our martial arts demonstrations and in our daily lives. Kuroshi-Do is a "Touch and Go" system. All of the techniques which are taught in the system are R-E-A-L, and have been proven. Kuroshi-Do has been taught and demonstrated throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Philippine Islands, Spain, Germany, Trinidad, Tobago, Barbados, Venezuela and Holland. Even though some of the techniques are flashy and appear to be for demonstration only, they do work, and in the words of Professor Moses Powell and the late Bruce.
